Seriously, this was the best stay-cation i have EVER had, we had sooo much fun going to the aquarium, the beach, the splash park, cooking home made fried chicken, visiting my family, and watching movies! i just LOVE Jessica, and truly value her loving friendship... and jack just LOVED her boys! the morning that they left jack actually woke up crying for "baby" Ethan & "jkson"... it was sooooo sad! our house felt empty after they left:(

We went to the Lowry Park Zoo today, for Jack's first visit, with his babysitter Miss Corrie & his partners in crimes: Mia & Andrew. It was a scorcher outside, so thank goodness for the splash park. We still had to come home and jump in the pool though, what a hot miserable day in Florida!!! Jack had a blast, and it it just now 10pm and we are getting him to bed... he was still on his ZOO high all evening:) what a FUN day with friends!!!

We took Jack to get his 2nd haircut this weekend at Shortcuts 4 Kids! It was the CUTEST Kid Salon ever! He sat in a jeep truck chair with a TV attached playing cartoons. I think he was still a little freaked out, but he did really well overall! And now he looks so grown up!

We went on the boat today to celebrate Jonathan's 27th birthday and had a BLAST! Jack was walking all over the boat like pro-seaman... and eating Pretzel's of coarse (his new favorite snack.) Jack Jack is walking everywhere these days, so i guess it is official to call him a "Toddler!" Here are some quick shots of his favorite morning ritual: first, wake up and say "Octh" 20 million times (not momma or dadda), then run to our bedroom to find Otch, chase after Otch all over the house while we feed her breakfast, then walk to the front door to try and open it, and finally explore outside on the front porch while we let Otch go "potty."

Saturday Night we had the Westchase Community Foundation's Santa Parade! It was a huge hit... but poor baby jack was so sleepy by the time Santa actually came down our street at 7:30 pm! Jack and i spent the day with my good friend Ms. Susan, from Baton Rouge! We had so much fun driving around town scoping out new homes (she wants to move here - YEAH!), eating at Philthy Phils, and playing at the beach! I just love, love, love her and can't wait for her to hurry up and move here so we can play together more often!

Then we went to dinner at Mommie & Grandaddy's where we got to hang out with my Uncle Blaine, Aunt Cathy, & Cousin Jason for the night! Jack was in LOVE with all of Mommie's "singing" Christmas decorations... and even tried to take the flying angel bear home with him! Tried being the operative word here, the boy does NOT need anymore singing stuffed animals!! What a fun day.

Today we went to mom & dad's house for Thanksgiving... along with ALL of my family. Crib Sleeping... again

Mr. Pouty Face... " NO Mom, i will NOT go to sleep!" Ok, so we are attempting the crib once again now that we are all well. He did fine last night, if you count only throwing up once from crying so hard and waking up 4 times in the middle of the night. Our only saving grace has been this night light turtle that shines stars on the ceiling in blue, green and yellow. He loves it and it totally calms him down! The whole process is just sooooo much work! wish us luck... this is our trial week and i WILL NOT give up!!

Oh, and we took him to the doctor today for his 10 month check up and he is 30.5 inches tall (amazing growth since his birth at 20.5 inches) and has lost weight from crawling and is 28 lbs. He is still off the charts in his percentiles, but is growing just fine according to our pediatrician.

This week we went to dinner with our FAVORITE Italian friends, spent the weekend with Uncle Bren (while mom & dad went to Mississippi for a wedding), hosted a MOMS Club playgroup at our house, and even drove out to Hyde Park for a little early Christmas shopping at Pottery Barn Kids. So last night I had a "My Favorite Things" Party & it was a huge success! 20 of my good friends showed up to exchange gifts, enjoys drinks, & munch on some yummy appetizers! I had such a great time chatting with everyone & seeing what item makes them SMILE! There were all kinds of gifts ranging from wine to face masks to Christmas ornaments! Thank you girls for coming... let's keep this a tradition and do it again soon!

For those of you who don't know how this party works... here is the recipe for a FUN time:
1. Each guest brings 3 of the EXACT same item,wrapped. (ex. 3 lip glosses, or 3 books, or 3 picture frames, or 3 socks...etc)
2. Then each guest gives 3 of thier gifts to 3 different people (we draw names) and then by the end of the night each guest ends up with 3 gifts... different from what they brought.
3. I did door prizes too... everyone always enjoys getting MORE gifts!!

Sleepless in Westchase...

OK, so last night we tried putting jack in his crib (AGAIN) instead of our bed. After one full month of sleeping in our bed, thanks to my mom and dad, enough was enough!The night was somewhat successful, if you call sitting beside him all night long holding his hand through the railing! he would fall asleep for about 30 minutes then wake up crying... who knew this would be such a major project! However, he did technically stay in his crib all night. So i got zero sleep and tonight it's jamey's turn. Wish us luck!

Jack is officially 9 months old, 29.5 pounds, 30 inches, has (6) teeth, wears 3T clothing, loves to clapp & wave, says "dadda" constantly, and is a crawling monster! He is growing up so fast!

Halloween was so much fun this year!! To keep in tradition, rick came over to help us pass out candy to ALL of westchase. And we even had Amelie, Jacopo, & Miss Emma join us. Jack and Emma went trick or treating (which really consisted of Amelie and i walking around the block saying hello to everyone and refusing candy) while the boys stayed in the driveway to pass out goodies. The weather was nice and cool and fun was had by ALL!

Today Jack and Emma had a Play Date in the Park! It was gorgeous weather and great conversation! As you can see, Jack and Emma are becoming fast friends... they play with each others' toys and even babble back and forth. It is soooo cute! We love our Italian friends!!

This week we discovered the laundry basket... and oh how jack loves to play peek-a-boo with mommy and daddy! too funny, i know! he just started crawling on his tummy too... it is not quite crawling on all fours but he can certainly move from one end of the room to the other on his little tummy! Yay! and unfortunately, he is still sleeping in our bed from 12 to 8am (in his crib from 8pm to 12 am)... but once he is officially over this cold i will try letting him cry it out. wish us luck:)

This weekend was October Fest in westchase. As the secretary of the Westchase Community Foundation (we sponsored this event), it was my job to get all of our marketing materials together for this weekend. So i ordered business cards, brochures, folders, and letterhead (which came out way cute). We put up a tent, gave out all of our info, and even raffled off a Wii. The event was a big hit! And... Jack even got to roll around in the grass and play with the cutest little puppy dog ever - SAMMI!

Oh, and my awesome cousin Ashley also came in to visit for the weekend. She was a great help at October Fest!! We love you Ash... please come visit us again soon!

Today was Jamey's 35th birthday, so we went down to mom and dad's house to celebrate the big day along with my Uncle David & Aunt Cheryl, my cousins Blair and Jason, and my grandparents Mommie & Grandaddy, and my two brother's Jonathan & Brendan. We had a yummy dinner and Brendan even helped me make Jamey a birthday cake... only to realize that the only candles we could find spelled out " hary bit" instead of "happy birthday." Too funny!!

So Jack and i were at Target last night looking for Halloween costumes and SHOCKER... there were no baby costumes available in his size (29 1/2 pounds). Mr. Lion was the only one i could find that was not girlish. So i tried it on him this morning, with the tags still attached just in case it did not fit him... and VIOLA! Doesn't he look adorable!! It is pretty snug though and there is no way this will still fit him in one month. Back to the store we go... maybe i will try a Halloween specialty store.

Today we met our new friends Mrs. Amelie & her adorable daughter Emma at the park... we had so much fun together trying the swings for the first time and playing on the playground! Fall has arrived in Florida and it was such a beautiful day, nice and breezy!

Later in the day we met daddy for lunch and tried lettuce for the first time. All was good until jack projectile vomited EVERYWHERE... poor little man. i think his gag reflex is still in place because he either swallows or just throws up.

So i don't know if you can tell... but he just woke up from a nap and had the cutest messy hair/bead head look! Plus he is definitely getting his two top teeth now...but they are on opposite sides from one another so it looks more like fangs. The little man is doing well, still trying solid foods (mostly: apples, pears, green beans, peas, carrots, and bananas.) Oh, and we just joined a mommy playgroup so we are both making new friends and enjoying getting out of the house more.

Yesterday we went to the dog beach with Bellie & Butterscotch "aka - Otch", our two golden retrievers, and Uncle Rick and his dog Hazel. It was an adventure for SURE! for starters it was a nice little 10 minute hike to the dog part of the beach, which was quite the task carrying jack (now weighing in at 28 pounds), two big beach bags, two dog leashes, and an umbrella! Once we got to the water were were situated for no more than 20 minutes before Otch decided to POOP in the water! mind you there were tons of people in the water with their kids and dogs! we were sooooo embarrassed! by the end of the day we were exhausted. Later in the evening we all went out to dinner... this last pic is of jack sitting like a big boy in his high chair:)

In light of Hurricane Gustav and Hannah striking... we decided to go out on the boat this weekend for one last drive around the bay before things got rough. A Sick Week...

Last week was CRAZY! Mommie was admitted to the hospital for "chest pains" and was released 10 days later with a pacemaker. The doctors also found a tumor on her kidney, but have yet to address it until they get her heart "fixed." Then baby jack got sick with a little virus and vomited everywhere, even through his nose... poor thing! Later in the week my Uncle David, Cheryl, jaci, Danny, Ashley, & Blaire came in town to check up on mommie... along with the rest of dad's family: aunt sue & uncle Blaine. It was great seeing everyone, just wished it was under better circumstances. Luckily, both jack and mommie are feeling better now:) We even tried more solid foods: peas, sweet potatoes, carrots, & pears.

We are in the process of screening in our back patio because baby Jack just loves it outside... but we do not love the Florida bugs. So the construction crew came out this week to get started on the project, and in the midst of it we found this GIANT turtle lurking around in a rain puddle. He is so huge that we decided to show you his size to scale with this domino. Isn't he the cutest little thing you have ever seen! Jack was in complete amazement!!

I graduated on Saturday from IADT with my bachelors in Merchandising... it only took me 10 years, 3 schools in 3 different states, and 5 degree changes. Yahoo! (i was chosen to represent the school on their new website - check here) For those of you who don't know, i got my associates in fashion design & marketing... then went back to get my bachelors after realizing that i HATE to sew! I actually finished up in December right before jack was born, perfect timing huh!

So we all went out to lunch after my graduation to Maggiano's, then went to mom & dad's for a little graduation party... more pics to follow soon! it was a blast!! Oh, this is the Sponge Bob pillow that Melissa just got Jack... and he LOVES to snuggle with it already!!

This week was monumental for us because Jack started eating rice cereal, sleeping EIGHT consecutive hours, and sitting up on his own! Plus, when we went to the Dr. they said he was "off the charts" for being only 5 months and 22 pounds... but "Average for a 12 month old!" Crazy... hopefully now that he is rolling around and standing up in his bouncy exerciser he will burn off some off that chunkiness:) We love him soooooo much and have truly enjoyed each and every moment with our little prince!!!

So Dave came in town this weekend and we all went out on dad's boat for the 4th of July to watch the fireworks on St. Pete Beach.... however our plans were cut short when one of the engines died in the middle of the bay. And then, just as we were pulling into the marina the second engine died! So no fireworks show for us... all of the boys had to manually pull the boat into the slip while baby Jack and us girls waited in my air-conditioned car!

So we went to Mr. Daniel's birthday party this weekend and had sooooooo much fun seeing Miss Joy, Annamaria, Kelli, Chris, and all of the kids! Jack even got a little "fresh" with Chris's adorable daughter Sydney when she tried to give him kisses. It was so cute to see all of the kids having fun on the slip-n-slide. I even got to snuggle with Miss Ava while she was sleeping on my shoulder! We seriously NEED to get together more often, cause i miss everyone soooooo much!

After the birthday party festivities, we went to Rick's for a little BBQ party. Jack just loves to be thrown in the air and bounced all around with Uncle Rick.... i think this means he is going to like roller coasters, right??

We have been Busy Bees lately!

So jack and i went to our first Music Class this week... and we LOVED it! He was the youngest one there, and sat in amazement for the entire hour! We can't wait to go again on Friday:)

An old friend friend from LSU came to visit us today... Mrs. Kristen! We had soooooo much fun talking and catching up. It has been over 6 years since we last saw each other... and we had a lot to talk about!!We can't wait to drive down to Cape Coral to visit her next month.

I have been wanting to trace Jack's hand prints for some time now and just haven't gotten around to it. Well finally i decided to do a little arts & crafts with Jack this week and captured these cute prints. wishful thinking idea - maybe i can do this every month to see how he grows??

My mom came over to babysit while Brendan and i went to see Get Smart... great movie by the way - SUPER funny! And i had to take the opportunity to get a cute "Honey & Jack" picture before we left for the theater!

So after being on the boat all day Sunday for father's day... i got a little TOO much sun! and yes, i take complete responsibility because i didn't put any sunscreen on my face or my chest! i know - i know - i am a dork! so all day yesterday and today i have been recuperating with baby jack... in our pajamas all day long.

Ok, so Jack just said "Da da"... i know it's a little early but i swear we heard him say it twice! It was the cutest thing ever... and i don't think i have ever seen Jamey so proud! i absolutely LOVE this time with baby Jack... he is soooooo cute and showing us more and more of his big personality.
