Feeding Time

Jack has finally cut his first tooth, right on the bottom! so now we are trying spoon fed rice cereal, veggies, and fruit... with NO luck! anyone have any good suggestions?? the only way he is eating the cereal is through the bottle, and pumping is no fun!! Aren't these pics so cute though! Today... Jack is officially 6 months old, 24 pounds, and 28 inches!!

Jack'll get it in no time, don't worry. Just keep trying everyday. It took Peyton a while too, and actually, he did not like the baby cereal at all so we ended up skipping that and just going to stage 1 baby food. Also, they use different muscles in their mouth (including their tongue) to nurse and eat off of a spoon so it will take him a few tries to get the hang of how to swallow what's on a spoon. Your little Jack is so cute! I love how he is licking the bowl at the end!!

have you tried mixing a little cereal with the jarred baby food? sometimes that helps. we did that with jackson a lot.
are you not going to nurse now that he has a tooth?

I agree with the last comment. Try mixing a little bit of the jarred baby food with the cereal. Also, my girls always preferred oatmeal cereal over rice cereal. But honestly, my first was a HORRIBLE eater. And I mean HORRIBLE. It was the biggest frustration of my life. My second would eat anything. Good luck. Just keep trying. And I know pumping stinks, but are you mixing the cereal with breastmilk or formula, cuz that might make a difference too?
